Joseph Tripodi, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing & Commercial Officer, The Coca-Cola Company along with Sir Robert Swan, Polar explorer and environmentalist flagged off the first ever Cycle Rally as part of the Support My School campaign at the Deepalpur Government Senior Secondary School in Sonepat last week. Christened, 'Bacche school main hi acche', the cycle rally was undertaken to further propagate Support My School campaign's message of ensuring that children continue to study and not drop out of school.

An inter-school sports meet was also hosted at Deepalpur School with all the 8 schools around the Sonepat cluster participating in the competitions like running races, badminton and fun games like lemon-spoon race. Mr Joseph Tripodi and Sir Robert Swan witnessed the finals of some of the games, and in a special ceremony gave away medals to the winning athletes.

Joe Tripodi, accompanied by Anupama Ahluwalia, VP Marketing, Deepak Jolly, VP PAC, Debabrata Mukherjee, VP Strategy and Innovation and Vikas Chawla, VP Franchise Bottling Operations, examined the various SMS elements, installed at the school. They visited classrooms, toilet facilities, drinking water units, the rainwater harvesting project, the playgrounds and also inaugurated the new Library installed by Pearson Foundation, where Joe Tripodi gave out the first few books to the children. He also enjoyed a quick game of Badminton with the students and Coca-Cola Associates.
This was followed by an interactive session between Joe and the students and teachers of the school.
